Volunteer Update

Weeding Wednesdays, every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Colonial Lake

We always say this, and it is always true. Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We cannot take care of our parks or hold our free community events without you! One of our frequently asked questions is about volunteer opportunities for young professionals who cannot attend weekday morning events. Look no further!

  • Weeding Wednesdays: Bring a friend and dig in the dirt after a long day at the office. This laid-back, social time brings the community together to help us keep Colonial Lake beautiful and non-toxic through an evening weeding session. Bring a blanket to sit on and your headphones to zen out, or bring a friend to catch up on this week’s news, all while helping the Conservancy and our parks! We will provide refreshments, music and good vibes. Let us know you are coming!
  • Watering Volunteer: Following in-person training, volunteers can set their own schedules to maintain regular watering in our parks, helping plants thrive throughout the summer months.
  • Pollinator Caretaker: Spend a Saturday in the garden helping take care of the beautiful blooms that support our pollinators. Following an in-person training session, volunteers will join in groups on select Saturdays of the month to go over seasonally appropriate tasks and conduct pollinator counts at one of our three community gardens. Sign up for our next training session.
