Two Charleston Parks on Local ‘Best Of’ List

We were delighted to see two parks highlighted in the Charleston City Paper’s annual “Best Of Charleston” issue. Garnering accolades were:
– Best Public Space: Marion Square. Did you know the Conservancy works in many of the flower beds bordering this park?
– Best Playground Accessory: The covered bench at Corrine Jones Park (pictured above). In spring 2012, the Conservancy – with much help from the city of Charleston and the Wagener Terrace neighborhood – finished a major makeover of this park. We installed new playground equipment at the end of 2011 and the following spring planted 500 flowers and shrubs. Students from the Clemson Architecture Center designed and built a covered bench for the park.
What other parks and green spaces are the “best” in Charleston? Do you have a favorite park or park feature?
