Turn Your Donation Into Daffodils on #GivingTuesday

With Black Friday, Cyber Monday and retailers battling for those holiday shopping dollars, it’s easy to forget this is supposed to be the season of giving. Enter #GivingTuesday, an international (and social media driven) celebration of holiday giving.

The second annual #GivingTuesday is Dec. 3. The day is a special call to action and creates a national day of giving around the annual shopping and spending season. The hope it this one highlighted day of giving will inspire giving every day. In 2012, more than 2,500 charities, volunteer organizations, corporations and foundations came together on #GivingTuesday with a common purpose: help others and incentivize ways to give more, give smarter and celebrate the American spirit of contribution.

How can you get involved in #GivingTuesday?

Donate daffodils to the Charleston Parks Conservancy and get ready for beautiful blooms this spring. Each year, the Conservancy plants thousands of daffodil bulbs in parks like Cannon, Brittlebank, Corrine Jones, Allan and Chapel Street Fountain. A $10 donation equals 10 daffodil bulbs that will be planted in December and January, resulting in a breath-taking springtime flower show.

Donate on #GivingTuesday and be entered into a drawing for a Charleston Parks Conservancy hoodie.

You also can make a donation to one of our park specific projects or donate your time as a Park Angel volunteer.

Doesn’t it feel good to give? And the best part is visiting local parks and knowing you had a hand in making those green spaces look so good!
