The Power of Parks

From our Executive Director
Dear Park Angels,
In these challenging and ever changing times we hope this letter finds you healthy and in good spirits. Like you, we are missing the everyday activities in our parks and long for the time when we can reconnect and re-engage alongside our neighbors in the community. In the meantime, Conservancy staff is working diligently to continue to keep our parks thriving and stay connected to our volunteers, donors and park users.
At the Charleston Parks Conservancy, we have always believed in the power of our parks. It’s at the core of what we do. Today, we are reaching out to you to ask for your vital support for our mission. While these are extraordinary times laden with uncertainty and anxiety, they have reinforced the value of our parks and public spaces in the community, and we know that when we emerge from this crisis we will need our parks more than ever before. It is imperative to sustain our work as an essential resource to our community as we prepare for a brighter tomorrow.
This spring, we are thrilled to announce that through June 1, 2020, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar—up to $50,000—thanks to The Speedwell Foundation! Your investment in our work today will go even further, making an even stronger and lasting impact on our city during a time when we need it the most.
Thank you for your generous past support for the Conservancy. Please partner with us today to ensure that our parks remain vibrant and engaging with a gift before June 1, 2020. You may also visit our donation page to make your gift online.
On behalf of the board of directors and staff of the Conservancy, we appreciate everything you do for our parks. Your support creates inspiring public spaces and a stronger community.
Sincerely,
Harry Lesesne
Executive Director
