The Conservancy Expands Volunteer Opportunities with new Event Squad and Arts and Crafters Committees

Charleston Parks Conservancy is looking for new volunteers to join our two new committees, Event Squad and Arts and Crafters.

Event Squad

Do you enjoy a great event? From set up to take down and all the important things in between, volunteers like you are essential to the success of our events.

Events Squad is the crew that makes our events happen. Volunteers will work behind the scenes and on the front lines. Duties include event check-in, ticket sales, wrist-banding, set up and take down and helping things run smoothly during each event. Event Squad members are the friendly faces people see as they arrive and depart Conservancy events!

Conservancy events include:
– Teddy Bear Picnic
– Jazz Brunch
– Movie Nights
– Bark Angels
– Party for the Parks
– And more!

These events take place in the evenings and on weekends. We ask that Squad members serve a one-year term and volunteer at four to six events throughout the year. Extra benefits include the ability to earn event tickets and conservancy swag.

Arts and Crafters

If fresh markers, felt and glue guns get you excited, we need you! The Charleston Parks Conservancy is looking for crafty volunteers to help with various projects. Some projects are pre-planned and need helpers to realize our crafty vision while others will allow volunteers to share their talents and come up with exciting new ideas for our programs and events.

We will schedule arts and crafts work sessions and occasionally will have take-home projects. Examples of activities include: cutting metallic flags to be hung at Party for the Parks, assembling floral art gifts, tying bows for holiday decor and making clothing samples for a Teddy Bear Picnic fashion show. We are also looking for artistic members of this team to hand-letter informational sandwich-board signs placed in the parks.

If you’re interested in joining Arts and Crafters sign up here.
