Teddy Bear Picnic 2024: Where the Wild Things Are

This March, the Conservancy welcomed 4,000 guests, 100+ volunteers and 20 community partners  to the 14th Annual Teddy Bear Picnic sponsored by Dominion Energy.

Teddy Bear Picnic is a true testament to the power of community.   This year’s event brought together organizations from throughout Charleston to introduce children to the natural world, the arts world and creative ways to get out into nature and enjoy their parks – without a screen in sight! See below for our full list of partners.

Event highlights included the Access Urgent Teddy Bear Urgent Care, energetic performances by Watoto, The V-Tones of Charleston and Kyle K’Otic, giant bubbles, an obstacle course and so much more.

Children contributed to an upcoming public art display in collaboration with the Gibbes Museum of Art called A Tree of Every Color.  This community art project was conceptualized and designed by artist Tuxedo Kat as part of the dedication of her new permanent sculpture on the West Ashley Bikeway in May 2024.  A Tree of Every Color will include over 200 three-dimensional hanging flowers constructed by kids and families in the Lowcountry and can be viewed from April 22-28 at the Gibbes Museum before moving to a new location.
