Sunday Garden Stroll

Take a fall stroll through some of Charleston’s most beautiful gardens this weekend as part of the Charleston Horticultural Society’s Fall Garden Tour. Visit eight to 10 public and private gardens (perfect! You don’t have to peek through the fence, you can actually go inside!).

The tour runs through the Mazyck Wraggborrough neighborhood, which is known as the Garden Districts thanks to its many fountains and public gardens. According to the Horticulture Society, this area was founded in the late 1700s and was popular for wealthy families seeking suburban living.

One of the stops on the tour is Chapel Street Fountain Park where Park Angels have been busy working for almost two years. It may be small in size, but it’s certainly big in beauty. This quaint little park situated in the middle a neighborhood intersection is a great backdrop for lunch, an afternoon coffee break or a family photo.

Park Angels will be in the park during the garden tour to provide more information about the Conservancy, our work in Chapel Street Fountain Park and the various plants you can find there.

The Fall Garden Tour is from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3 with a light reception to follow (rain or shine). Tickets are $25 for members, $45 for non-members. For more information or to register, visit the Horticultural Society website.
