Spring is Starting to Bloom
Spring has sprung in our local parks. The work our staff and volunteers have been doing to prep soil, plant bulbs and trim plants is paying off. Get out in your parks and see what’s in bloom.
Brittlebank Park – Volunteers from the Charleston RiverDogs helped us plant 2011 star daffodil bulbs in January and the results are starting to show.
Chapel Street Fountain Park – This pocket park is alive with yellow primrose jasmine, viburnum, ice follies daffodils and February gold daffodils.
Simonton Park – White flowering quince is springing to life.
Windermere Community Garden – Don’t miss the hedgehog aloes and fuschia-colored loropetalum.
Keep an eye on all the parks this spring to see how busy our Park Angels have been! Let us know which parks you’re enjoying and your favorite “flower show.”
