Shaw Community Center Renovation
The Shaw Community Center is home to after-school and summer programs and camps as well as educational courses for youth, teens and seniors. In 2013 the Conservancy began plans to install a garden area at Shaw Community Center. With a $5,000 donation and volunteers from the Olde Charlestowne Sertoma Club, the Charleston Parks Conservancy planted the courtyard area around the center in June 2013. In 2013 Care Fund was established for the continued maintenance of the Shaw Community Center Garden. The Conservancy introduced almost a dozen new plant varieties to the Shaw Community Center Courtyard. New plants included Dwarf Viburnum, golden dewdrop, and the giant leopard plant.
Thank you to the Olde Charlestowne Sertoma Club for supporting the Conservancy.
