Hazel Parker Renovation
Hazel Parker Playground is a downtown park favorite because of its proximity to White Point Garden, Waterfront Park, and the surrounding historic neighborhoods. It offers a great view and a variety of activities. The City’s Education Center on East Bay Street offers programming year-round, and the park also has a small dog run at its northern end.
The Conservancy’s renovation to the park gardens occured in April 2010 and again in April 2011 – adding a shaded swingset to the playground, updating the gardens with over 15 varieties of plants, and installing climbing Peggy Martin Roses along the fence near East Bay St.
Through a partnership with The City of Charleton, The Conservancy maintains an active involvement updating the park with new plantings and activities throughout the year.
