Party for the Parks Goes Under the Big Top at Colonial Lake

__CHARLESTON, S.C.__ – Go under the big top as Party for the Parks returns in November with a circus-sized extravaganza at the newly renovated Colonial Lake in downtown Charleston. Tickets are now on sale at PartyfortheParks.com.

The largest fundraiser for the Charleston Parks Conservancy, Party for the Parks is 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. Party-goers will be in for a true treat with a live auction, open bars and cocktail stations, circus treats created by top local restaurants, live music with Sol Driven Train, enticing entertainers and more.

Tickets for the event are $85 for general admission, which includes food, open bars and entertainment. A Big Top (VIP) ticket is available for $200 and includes access to a private lounge with bar, signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and sideshow entertainment.

All proceeds from Party for the Parks benefit the work of the Charleston Parks Conservancy in more than 25 Charleston City parks. This work includes park renovations like Colonial Lake, Allan Park, Corrine Jones Playground, McMahon Playground at Hampton Park, Saint Julian Devine Community Center, and Medway Community Garden. This work also includes continuous park care and maintenance, park programs like Garden in the Parks and community gardening, as well as community events like Teddy Bear Picnic and Movies at Magnolia.

In June, the Conservancy and the City of Charleston celebrated the completion of a $5.9 million renovation to Colonial Lake. The park served as the original host for Party for the Parks, but was closed for construction during the 2015 event so the party moved to Cannon Park.

“We are thrilled to be back at Colonial Lake this year,” said Amy Carter, the Conservancy’s director of development. “Party for the Parks 2016 will highlight the wonderful revitalization of this iconic Charleston park while raising critical funds to keep Colonial Lake and many other local parks vibrant and beautiful all year round.”
