Thomas Johnson Park, formerly called Westchester Playground, is an 11-acre park with a rural feel located on James Island. The park is nestled in a large canopy of trees making it a cool alternative to the summer heat here in Charleston. It boasts tennis courts, a baseball/softball field and a playground. The playground building is staffed during certain hours and there are public restrooms available.
