May 2019 Park Angel of the Month: Motley Rice

Motley Rice began working with the Charleston Parks Conservancy in 2012. “Our firm really connected with the mission of The Conservancy and agreed that the parks contribute to a higher quality of life and build a stronger community,” said a spokesperson from Motley Rice.
ProjectGO!, their community outreach program, allows their employees to donate a workday volunteering for organizations and non-profit groups in need throughout the Lowcountry. Since 2011, ProjectGO! has become an annual event, encouraging year-round volunteer efforts and fostering new relationships within their communities. Motley Rice started the ProjectGo! initiative to reinforce the firm’s mission of ‘Causes, Not Just Cases®.
“Giving back is an essential part of the Motley Rice culture. Our mission is to go beyond the office and courtroom walls to better our community. We sustain local and national efforts by sharing our heads, hands, and hearts in working for a better tomorrow. While we are a national law firm, we are proud to call Charleston home and wanted to find a hands-on way to give back and invest in the Charleston community,” the law firm shared.
Entering their eighth year with the Charleston Parks Conservancy, volunteer days have become a firm favorite. “The volunteer slots with the Charleston Parks Conservancy are among the first to fill up when we announce the service days and volunteer opportunities. We always receive great feedback from this program and love working with the Charleston Parks Conservancy team,” shared a spokesperson from Motley Rice.
“Our volunteers love planting and getting to look back on their day’s work – we love seeing the before and after pictures and hearing about the hundreds of plants and flowers that a team will plant over the course of a day and we are so proud to have the opportunity to give back to the local community.”
