Anyone Can Create a Legacy

“A society grows great when men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” – Greek Proverb

In nature, keystone plants are the 1% of plants that support 90% of species.   At the Conservancy, the Keystone Giving Circle is made up of our dedicated donors who wish to leave a lasting legacy by supporting the Conservancy’s mission in Charleston’s public parks. Keystone supporters bring the people of Charleston closer to their parks, contributing to the creation of beautiful public spaces and fostering a vibrant community.

The Charleston Parks Conservancy is honored to announce a new legacy society recognizing those who include us in their estate plans. Planned gifts have a truly transformational impact on our parks— by growing our endowment to ensure long-term sustainability, and providing our staff with the resources needed to not only preserve the beauty and accessibility of Charleston’s parks for generations to come but to quickly adjust to natural disasters and the impacts of climate change.

Donors who make a planned gift of any kind and any size are eligible for membership in the Keystone Giving Circle. Benefits include:

  • Recognition in the Charleston Parks Conservancy’s annual report starting at time of commitment and continuing in perpetuity following gift realization.
  • Annual invitation to Keystone Giving Circle Luncheon, hosted by the Charleston Parks Conservancy’s Board of Directors.
  • Keystone Society certificate and token of appreciation.
  • Upon gift realization, donor name will be committed to a permanent plaque that will be prominently displayed at our offices and on our website recognizing Keystone Circle members.
