Introducing Walk YOUR Walk 2024: Your Path to Health, Wellness, and Community Connection

In a world that’s always on the move, sometimes the best steps forward are the ones we take at our own pace. That’s why we’re thrilled to launch Walk YOUR Walk 2024, a comprehensive program designed to inspire everyone to step into a healthier, more connected lifestyle. With six different ways to get our and walk in your parks, there’s something for everyone! Each of these events are free and open to the public.

  1. Walk in the Park: Every Monday from February 12 – March 18, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
    • Revitalize your Mondays with a guided walk on the Johns Island end of the West Ashley Greenway at 9:00 AM, connecting with fellow walkers in the beauty of our parks.
  2. The Walking Book Club ®: Session 1: February 11 – March 23 | Session 2: April 7 – May 19
    • Combine literature and fitness in our Walking Book Club®, where you can listen to the designated book on your own time and join Sunday meetups at Colonial Lake to discuss, led by Health Coach Julie Kaminski.
  3. Net-Walk for Young Professionals: February 16, 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM
    • Network in nature with our Netwalks series, offering young professionals a relaxed setting to expand connections during our Spring walks.
  4. Herbal Walk: February 15, March 21, and April 18, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
    • Join for our Monthly Herbal Walks led by certified herbalist April Punsalan to uncover the secrets of herbal remedies and explore the natural habitats of plants in our parks. Note: Registration is $8 per person.
  5. Tree ID Walk: To be announced
    • Explore the diversity of trees in our parks with quarterly Tree ID Walks led by certified arborist Robert McCombs, deepening your appreciation for the greenery around you.
  6. Walk with the Conservancy: Every Wednesday from February 14 – March 20, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
    • Dive into the heart of The Charleston Parks Conservancy in our 6-week Spring Series led by Courtney Olson, featuring “Guest Walkers” for an insider’s view of our organization.
