Impact of Free-Event Sponsorships

The Conservancy’s ability to provide large scale free community programs like Teddy Bear Picnic and the Music in the Parks series for our community is directly tied to support from our sponsors and the community.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Teddy Bear Picnic gained nine brand new sponsors, including Walmart (art pavilion sponsor), Select Health of South Carolina (photo booth sponsor), Crews Subaru (stage sponsor) and more.  These organization’s contributions allowed the Conservancy to welcome 3,500 people to Hampton Park for a beautiful day filled with family-friendly fun.  This year’s Lorax-themed event included an upgraded photo booth, a tree giveaway hosted by Charleston Trees, a free shuttle service and more.

Save the date for March 1, 2026, for next year’s “Very Hungry Caterpillar” themed Teddy Bear Picnic!

Music in the Parks Series Returns

We are thrilled for the return of our popular Music in the Parks series, held this year at Corrine Jones Park & Community Garden.   We welcomed 300 residents to our first event in March for a free evening of tunes, popsicles and community.

Thank you to our 5 first time sponsors for this event: United Community Bank, Marshall Walker Real Estate, Dance Conservatory of Charleston, Brooks and Erin Reitz, Lillian’s Petite Market & Eatery and King of Pops for helping us continue to bring free arts into our community.

We hope you will join us at 5:30 p.m., April 10, 2025 at Corrine Jones Park to enjoy Shrimp City Slim and free ice cream!
