Greetings from your Charleston Parks Conservancy!

As we enter a new season and in celebration of Earth Month, the Conservancy is reaching out to the community for your continued financial support of our upcoming projects and community events in your public parks.  

The Conservancy is 100% community funded and relies on on-going financial investment from our neighbors to continue to fulfill our mission to elevate and activate our parks.  

What is the Conservancy doing in MY park?

Horticulture Enhancements:

  • Summer Seasonal Planting

Free Community Events:

  • April 23 – Full Moon Yoga

Public Volunteer opportunities (Registration required):

Horticulture Enhancements:

  • Removal of invasive species & replace with salt tolerate varieties.
  • Enhanced wildlife habitat and storm water mitigation 
  • Increased visibility into the Park 
  • Diversified plant palette
  • Community engagement and education

Free Community Events:

  • May 19:  Walking Book Club
  • December – Light the Lake

Public Volunteer opportunities (Registration required):

  • Wednesdays at 9am – Garden in the Parks 

Horticulture Enhancements:

  • Installation of pollinator and sensory corridor (Spring)
  • Removal of sharp thorny roses and grasses around the play areas
  • Renovating the rain garden
  • Expanding existing shade garden

Public Volunteer opportunities (Registration required):

  • March 12 & March 14:  Garden in the Parks
  • Every Wednesday at 9am at Corrine Jones Community Garden – Gather & Garden
  • Water this park!

  • Updating the foundational plantings around the playground, tennis courts and access ramp
  • Spring/Summer Seasonal plant displays
