Charleston Trees’ Native Tree Giveaway

The Charleston Parks Conservancy, in partnership with Charleston Trees, is thrilled to offer free native trees to City of Charleston residents. You’ll have a variety of native trees to choose from, including Southern Magnolia, Tulip Poplar, Eastern Redbud, and more. Just select your tree when registering!
Staff from SavATree and Charleston Trees will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the maintenance or planting of your trees. We’ll also have staff from the South Carolina Asian Longhorned Beetle Program on-site to provide more information about the Asian longhorned beetle (ALB) infestation in South Carolina, which has the potential to cause huge economic losses for the nursery and forestry industries. Do you have trees that have been removed due to the ALB infestation? The ALB Program will be offering a limited number of free replacement trees at this event with proof of removals.
Key Details:
- Tree Pick-Up: Saturday, January 11 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- Each household is limited to two trees.
- All trees come in a 3-gallon container and range from approximately 3 to 7 feet tall.
- Tree Planting Instructions: We’ll provide guidance on planting and caring for your new trees.
- More Information: Staff will be on hand to assist with questions or you can learn more about each tree species in the SC Forestry Commission’s Urban Tree Species Guide for South Carolina.
