__Cephalotaxus harringtonia – Japanese Plum Yew__
– Small, coniferous shrub. Spreading growth habit. Like full to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil.

__Mahonia eurybracteata – Soft Caress Mahonia__
– Great shade plant. Small evergreen shrub, growing 2-3 feet tall. Yellow flower clusters in fall give way to blue berries. Like well-drained soil.

__Lycoris radiata – Hurricane Lily, Spider Lily__
– Perennial bulb noted for its bright red flowers atop 1-2 foot stems in September (Hurricane season, one source of its name)

__Alocasia gageana’California’ – Elephant Ear
– Perennial foliage plant with large, showy leaves. This cultivar has a nice, compact growth habit with a good variation of leaf sizes. Likes mostly shade with some filtered sun.
