Colonial Lake Renovation Almost Complete, Volunteers Needed

The construction fence is starting to come down at Colonial Lake and a portion is open to the public. Next, the Conservancy and volunteers will add compost to the flower beds and gardens and then begin planting the flowers, shrubs and trees. Volunteers – both groups and individuals – are invited to join in planting the newly redone Colonial Lake. Any groups (businesses, civic clubs or organizations) wishing to schedule a park workday can sign up for a date in April or May. Individuals interested in volunteering should complete this form; you’ll be notified of scheduled volunteer days.

Also, the Conservancy is planning a grand re-opening celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. We can’t wait to gather with donors, volunteers, supporters, neighbors and park lovers to celebrate this beloved downtown Charleston park.
