Charleston Parks Host Plenty of Spring Events
Thanks to our great climate, Charleston is an area that can host outdoor events almost year-round. And it makes us proud to see just how many of those events take place in our city parks. Here are just a few park events coming up this spring.
This weekend kicks off the unofficial start to our tourist and festival season with the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition. That three-day event celebrates all things wildlife and outdoors with demonstrations, education events, art displays and the DockDogs. Events are at various venues around town, but many take place in Marion Square and at Brittlebank Park. While you’re at Brittlebank, check out the area around the large park sign. The daffodils we planted there are blooming!
Marion Square also is home to several events for the Wine + Food Festival Feb. 28 to March 3 and Charleston Fashion Week coming up March 19-23. The Charleston Beer Garden is May 18 in Brittlebank Park. Brittlebank also hosts the Spring Jam Music Fest on March 23-24. And in Wragg Square enjoy storytellers from all over at Charleston Tells, a storytelling festival March 8-9.
Let’s not forget our very own Teddy Bear Picnic on March 10 in Hampton Park.
And that’s just some springtime events! What did we miss? What else is happening in the parks around Charleston?
