Charleston Parks Conservancy Celebrates 10 Years with Community Party

Join the Conservancy for our 10th Birthday Bash on Saturday, March 25 at Colonial Lake from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Plus, celebrate the planting of a new large live oak tree at Colonial Lake to replace a large tree lost during Hurricane Matthew. The tree will likely be planted prior to the event near the intersection of Broad Street and Rutledge Avenue.
Enjoy a picnic in the park as DJ Scooby plays live music and Roti Rolls & Fauzia’s Kitchen are on site serving lunch. Other activities include painting for kids with Cookies & Canvas, lakeside games, and sailboat races courtesy of the Charleston Model Yacht Club. Take a tour around Colonial Lake that reflects on the Conservancy’s 10 years as a nonprofit organization working to revitalize more than 25 city parks. Dogs are welcome at this birthday party! Don’t miss the Bark Angel Canine Costume Contest, with prizes for the Best Owner & Dog Costume Combination, Best Adult Dog Costume, and Best Puppy Costume (1 year or younger).
Ashley Avenue will be closed from Broad to Beaufain streets for the Birthday Bash. Get updates and invite friends via our Facebook event.
