Be an Aqua Angel!

It’s summertime and the livin’ is easy. Well, not for the Charleston Parks Conservancy! Our parks need love all year long so we’re busy bees well into the summer. Won’t you join us for some summer fun as an Aqua Angel?

If you can hold a water hose, you can do this job! Help keep our beautiful park gardens lush and green during the hot days of summer. This is a simple and relaxing activity but it sure means a lot to our plants and our parks. We have a variety of park locations in downtown Charleston, West Ashley and Daniel Island and we can work with you to create a schedule that suits you. Volunteers must commit to 10 hours of volunteer time.

Last year, our volunteer Aqua Angels spent 344 hours watering the parks. It’s a tremendous help to our staff and a great way to give back to the parks. We are very careful to use native and drought-tolerant plants in the parks but they still need a drink, especially if they are new plants with less-established root systems.

So come on out and join us! It’s a great way to earn your water wings!
