Area Farmers Markets Open with Array of Fresh Goodies

They’re back! Farmers markets around the Lowcountry are getting ready to open, offering a bounty of fresh veggies, flowers, crafts and entertainment.

Charleston Farmers Market opens Saturday, April 9 in Marion Square. It’s open from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. each Saturday through Dec. 18 so there’s no excuse not to stop by. Enjoy the food vendors, entertainment, artisans and, of course, the fresh fruits and vegetables.

Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market opens Tuesday, April 12 at the Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market Pavilion on Coleman Boulevard (located on the ground of Moultrie Middle School). The market is open 3:30 p.m. until dark each Tuesday through Oct. 18. The Farmers Market also has a Facebook page so check it out for regular updates.

North Charleston Farmers Market opens Thursday, April 21 and runs through Oct. 27. The market is open noon to 7 p.m. at Park Circle’s Felix C. Davis Community Center. In addition to produce, food vendors and arts and crafts, local artists will do demonstrations the second and fourth Thursday of the month.

The Summerville Farmers Market opened last Saturday and will run each Saturday until the late fall. The market is located at First Citizens Bank next to Town Hall in the heart of downtown Summerville.
