M. Anthony McAlister, Jr.

M. Anthony McAlister Jr. is the president and founder of McAlister Development Co., a real estate development firm specializing in student housing and mixed­ use development.

McAlister served in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. After serving four years in Fort Bragg, McAlister attended the College of Charleston. While a student at C of C, McAlister completed his first real estate project and the success of that project paved the way for numerous projects from the Charleston peninsula to the Turks and Caicos Islands in the British West Indies.

McAlister is passionate about local charities and has been an avid supporter of many organizations, including Pattison’s Academy, Windwood Farm Home for Children, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, March of Dimes, and the Red Cross. McAlister lives in Mount Pleasant with his wife Bonnie; daughter, Sara Frances; and sons, Malcolm, Edwin, and Luke.
