A Walk in the Park: Etiwan Park

Daniel Island is a great community with its abundance of green space, walking/biking trails and water features. About two years ago, we started doing our part to keep Daniel Island the beautiful place that it is. With our volunteer Park Angels, we redid the beds at Etiwan Park, creating an oasis of plants and color.

Etiwan is a 7-acre park owned by the city of Charleston. Aside from our plantings, the park is in constant use thanks to its large playing fields, basketball courts, amphitheater and playground.

We continue to work in the beds at the park entrance and welcome Daniel Island residents to join us – no gardening experience needed! Our next Garden in the Parks event is at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 9. We’ll be tending the beds for the summer season, so come on out.

You also can head to Etiwan Park this Saturday night for a little stargazing with the Charleston Parks Conservancy and the Lowcountry Stargazers. We feel pretty certain you’ll learn to look at the nighttime sky in a new way. Visit our events page for more information or to register for this free event.
