As director of projects and volunteers, Paul Wentz, who also brings a background in horticulture, oversees all projects and coordinates volunteers for the CPC. While attending The Ohio State University, Wentz worked as the evening manager of Boulevard Gardens, a retail nursery in Columbus, Ohio.
After graduation, he went to work for a large wholesale/retail nursery and landscape company in New Springfield, Ohio, where he served three years as nursery manager. Wentz then moved back and forth between Ohio and South Carolina, first relocating to Pawleys Island, where he worked as a gardener on the horticulture staff at Brookgreen Gardens and then moving back to Ohio to become the landscape supervisor at Mill Creek Metro Parks in Youngstown.
Most recently, Wentz served as director of horticulture at Brookgreen Gardens. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture with a core focus on horticulture from The Ohio State University.
