Washington Square, located at the corner of Broad and Meeting streets, is one of the city's premiere parks. This historic location is home to Charleston City Hall, renovated within the last few years. The park, with its mature canopy of live oaks, is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a quiet moment. The shade is a welcome relief to visitors and locals alike who want to take a break from the summer heat and humidity. It is one of the more manicured parks, with floral displays changed throughout the year and over-seeded lawn in the winter months. The ironwork and architectural features in this park make it a must-see when walking the streets near this famous corner in Charleston.
