More About Affordabike
Affordabike was founded in 2009 when two college students came up with a vision, then put the pieces of the puzzle together to make that vision a reality. Griff Ducworth, bicycle expert, had been taking apart used bicycles, painting them, and then re-assembling them in his backyard before selling them at a discounted price to his friends. Daniel Russell-Einhorn, a College of Charleston student with importing experience, saw what Griff was doing and couldn’t help but imagine what kind of partnership the two could create.
Many college students and downtown residents just need a bicycle to get from point A to point B. $300 and $400 bicycles are quite nice but with theft being such a problem downtown, it is tough for someone to spend that much on a new bicycle.
Both partners shared the philosophy that people were being held back from buying bicycles because of price. At the same time, Griff and Dan agreed that customers wanted individuality. They wanted to give customers the chance to express themselves through their bicycles.
Thus Affordabike was born. A brand that doesn’t require sacrificing your bank account to get the bicycle you have always wanted.
How Do We Do It?
We import directly from the manufacturer cutting out the entire supply chain. We use many of the same parts that our competitors use but avoid paying inflated costs because we get our products from the source. We then pass those savings on to you, the customer!
