Park Angel #11
About:
Jim is the executive director for the Charleston Parks Conservancy and is at the very heart of the Park Angels movement. He is a skilled horticulturalist who has been a part of the Riverbanks Zoo and their 90-acre botanical garden, Brookgreen Gardens and Mepkin Abbey Botanical Garden in Moncks Corner, to name just a few projects. He has also worked privately as a garden designer and has volunteered his time to boards and organizations such as Columbia Green and The Charleston Horticultural Society.
Besides horticulture, he is also a floral artist, a writer and a photographer. For him, the Park Angels are an opportunity to actively bring people together around those places that are already such a connection. Of course, after a long day of Park Angel-ing, you'll find him tending his own half-acre garden at home on James Island. So introduce yourself to Jim to become to Park Angel along with him!
