Okay Dog Lovers.... We all love our pups a ton and want them to be as much a part of our lives as possible and the Park Angels and Bark Angels are trying to make that happen. I recently came across this advertisement for an event in Washington Post.

Chapel Street Fountain Park has been receiving much attention in the past couple weeks. Two Saturdays ago, a group of Park Angels planted a beautiful bed full with many colorful shrubs and perennials. Today, the attention turned to the turf area of the Park.

I was having a conversation a few weeks back with someone who was "getting into gardening" and the subject of growing native plants came up. "I am redoing my garden and I am only going to grow natives", they exclaimed. I inquired as to why and their answer was, "They are so much better for the environment." That's the Kool Aid talking if I ever heard it.

So here we are into the first week of May and gardening season is in full swing. We have spent the last months working in our beds, amending our soils and weeding, weeding, weeding. Well it's all worth it, because now, we plant!

The wand was waved over the Windermere Plaza and abracadabra, the proverbial rabbit popped out of the hat! Well, maybe it didn't happen quite like that, but the community garden at Windermere IS alive and kickin' with the colors of Spring... almost overnight!
