Keynote Lecture by Dr. Doug Tallamy at the 2010 Native Plant Symposium - Co-sponsored by the CPC

The South Carolina Native Plant Society will hold their 2010 Symposium Friday, May 7 through Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Magnolia Plantation & Gardens. The Charleston Parks Conservancy is co-sponsoring the keynote lecture by Dr. Doug Tallamy, PhD, nationally-acclaimed author of Bringing Nature Home: How You Can Sustain Wildlife with Native Plants, which was awarded the 2008 Silver Medal by the Garden Writer’s Association. Dr. Tallamy is Professor and Chair of the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware.

The lecture will be held on Saturday, May 8 from 9:30-10:30am.

In his address, Dr. Tallamy will speak to the importance of integrating native plants in our landscapes in order to maintain the balance of nature. Copies of his book will be available for purchase. 

As a co-sponsor of this lecture, the Charleston Parks Conservancy has 50 free tickets available to CPC Members and Park Angels.
