Our event calendar is full this fall and we need your help! Put on your Park Angel wings and sign up to volunteer. Whether you like children, crafts, crabbing, cocoa or canoeing, we have an event to match your interests. For questions or to volunteer, contact Neves Richards.
Like Crabbing?
We need volunteers to register participants and monitor the crab traps while attendees are on the nature walk. Be part of the Feeling Crabby event on Daniel Island from 3:15-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9. Or volunteer for the Learn to Crab class on Sunday, Nov. 19 on Daniel Island. Volunteers needed 9:30 a.m. to noon. If you’re not afraid to tie on raw chicken and net crabs, this is the volunteer opportunity for you! Both events are at Daniel Island Waterfront Park near 101 River Landing Drive.
Like Hot Cocoa?
We’re hosting a history and hot chocolate bicycle tour on Sunday, Nov. 13 on Daniel Island. Volunteers are needed to help registration and making hot chocolate. Volunteers should plan to arrive at 3 p.m.
Like Kids & Crafts?
We need some holiday elves to help children ages 6 to 11 with nature-inspired holiday crafts/gifts while their parents finish their own shopping. Volunteers needed from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at Hazel Parker Playground. A volunteer application is needed so please contact Neves Richards by Dec. 1 if you would like to help. More crafty volunteers will be needed for events next year so let us know if you are interested and we’ll add you to our team.
Like Canoes?
The Conservancy will have a booth at The Great Oyster Point Runoff water festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at Colonial Lake. We need Park Angels to help promote the conservancy and assist with activities.
